A woman in her 20s is suffering life threatening injuries after a hit and run incident on Thursday in downtown Toronto. Police responded to the collision at King Street and Spadina Avenue around 3:15 am. It is reported that the vehicle briefly stopped after the hit and then proceeded to flee the scene.

Police Sgt. Murray Campbell states “(The vehicle went) southbound and from what we understand at a high rate of speed. So, they were fleeing the area. They knew exactly what happened and they were fleeing.” Campbell gives more info about the scene, “As you can see, there are some vehicle parts that are left at the scene here. As part of our investigation, we’ll be following up with the vehicle parts to try and identify them.”

Toronto Police are currently investigating more about the driver and seeking help from the community to identify the suspect. However, the vehicle involved was described as a black Mercedes Sedan.

If anyone has any more information about the suspect, Police ask that you contact them as soon as possible or send an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers.
