Toronto Man, Charged in Collision that Killed Cyclist in Vaughan

A Toronto man faces dangerous driving charges after a collision which killed one cyclist and injured another in Vaughan. It is believed the man was speeding. York Regional Police are still looking for witnesses to the tragic accident that happened in the Dufferin Ave. and Steeles Ave. area at around 6 p.m.
Police say that a black Mercedes-Benz was going southbound on Dufferin Ave. at Glen Shields Ave. when it struck a black Hyundai, and proceeded to strike two cyclists and a light pole.
One cyclist died at the scene and the other suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The cyclist who died was a 47-year-old woman from Richmond Hill.
